Grade 1 Guji naturals from Uraga, Hambela and Shakiso — Ethiopia's highest-altitude primary export region. 2025/26 crop scoring 87–89 SCA.

TL;DR. Guji Grade 1 natural and washed green coffee beans, SCA 87–89 on the 2025/26 crop. Altitude 1,800–2,300m — the highest of Ethiopia's three primary export regions. 10-bag (600kg) minimum, microlot quantities available. FOB Djibouti or CIF.

    What Makes Guji Stand Out?

Guji grows at 1,800–2,300 metres — the highest altitude of the three primary Ethiopian export regions. The extreme altitude slows cherry development, concentrating sugars and producing intense flavour complexity. Guji was formally recognised as a distinct origin in approximately 2020, separate from broader Sidamo classification, and has since commanded significant buyer interest in specialty markets.

The 2025/26 Guji crop is scoring 87–89 SCA on current available microlots.

    Natural — primary offering

Cherries dried whole on raised beds for 18–25 days at altitude. Intense fruit character: blueberry jam, strawberry, dark chocolate, syrupy body, wine-like complexity. Popular for premium single-origin espresso and filter programs.

    Washed — on request

Less common but produces a cleaner, more structured cup with stone fruit, jasmine, and a bright, persistent finish. Contact us for washed Guji lot availability from the current crop.

    Common Questions

    Frequently Asked Questions

What SCA score does Guji coffee typically achieve?

Guji Grade 1 lots on the 2025/26 crop are scoring 87–89 SCA. Top microlots may score higher. SCA scores are provided for each lot in the availability list we send on request.

Is Guji coffee mostly natural or washed?

Most Guji production is natural (dry) processed. Washed Guji is available but less common. The natural processing suits Guji's high-altitude cherry development and produces the intense fruit character the region is known for.

What is the minimum order for Guji green coffee beans?

The minimum order is 10 bags (600kg). Premium microlots may be available at smaller quantities — contact us to discuss.

How does Guji compare to Yirgacheffe for specialty roasters?

Yirgacheffe washed lots are known for floral, citrus clarity. Guji naturals are known for intense fruit character — blueberry, chocolate, syrupy body. Many roasters source both for different programs.

When should I book Guji lots from the 2025/26 harvest?

Available crop ships through Q3 2026. Premium scored microlots are being reserved now. We recommend booking 8–12 weeks ahead of your target roasting date to secure specific lots.

Can I request lots from a specific Guji sub-region — Uraga, Hambela or Shakiso?

Yes. We source across Uraga, Hambela and Shakiso depending on crop availability. Specify your sub-region or cup character preference when contacting us and we will confirm current availability.

Do you provide EUDR documentation for Guji?

Yes. We provide traceability documentation to washing station level with GPS coordinates for EU import requirements.
